On numerous walking and hiking trails in and around the village, you have a direct view of the Dolomites. What's more, Tesido/Taisten is blessed with a few extra hours of sunshine compared to the other villages in the region. The downhill runs on the slopes of the ski lift in the village centre and the hikes on the local mountains and Alpine pastures are therefore a real treat. Those interested in culture should pay a visit to the historic St George's Church. And those seeking peace and quiet can enjoy the simplicity of being surrounded by nature.

: Yes, in Tesido/Taisten you can use the public bus 441 and the city bus 438. The bus takes you every hour either to Val Casies/Gsiesertal valley or via Monguelfo/Welsberg to Dobbiaco/Toblach and Innichen. The Citybus runs between the 2 villages of Monguelfo/Welsberg and Tesido/Taisten. Both lines stop at the railway station in Monguelfo/Welsberg, from where there are half-hourly services to Valdaora/Olang, Perca/Percha, Brunico/Bruneck and Fortezza/Franzensfeste or to Dobbiaco/Toblach, San Candido/Innichen and even Lienz in Austria. With the Guest Pass, you can use public transport free of charge.
: Tesido/Taisten is perfect for a family holiday. In addition to various easy hiking and walking trails, the Hochraut and Taistner Alm mountain huts are easily accessible for families. The legend trail is perfect for little explorers, while a hike through the Rudlbach stream provides refreshment on hot days. A walk to Welsberg and Welsperg Castle is another highlight.
: Yes, you can also go cross-country skiing in Tesido/Taisten. The connection to the Val Casies/Gsiesertal cross-country ski trail starts at the Marenklhof farm. After a few hundred metres you reach a crossroads from where you can either ski into the Val Casies/Gsiesertal valley or to Monguelfo/Welsberg. Monguelfo/Welsberg, in turn, is connected to the cross-country ski trails of the 3 Peaks Dolomites region.
