Floating over the snow

Cross-country skiing in Valle di Casies/Gsiesertal valley and the surrounding area is a real insider tip for fans of cross-country skiing: The wide, sunny valley floor is ideal for skiing through the unspoilt valley on over 50 km of trails. Through snow-covered forests, picturesque farms and typical mountain restaurants that invite you to take an enjoyable break. Monguelfo/Welsberg is the starting point of the Val Casies/Gsiesertal trail as far as St. Magdalena, although the gradient to St. Martin is relatively gentle. The last ascent to the end of the valley in St. Magdalena is worth it for the view of the route you have travelled. The connecting trail to the trails in the neighbouring 3 Zinnen Dolomites region is located in Monguelfo/Welsberg. A cross-country skiing holiday between the main Alpine ridge and the Dolomites will be varied - for sure.
